The donation of human cadavers at the Department of Anatomy – Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is done for assisting students of medicine and dentistry to study Anatomy in order to obtain the necessary knowledge and practical skills for their degree. It is well known that this is a much better way of learning anatomy in comparison to anatomy models.
Human corpses will be also used for education of graduate and post-doc students, residents and advanced doctors, who attend the lectures of Laboratory of Anatomy- “Anatomeio” each year.
The bodies will be respected properly from the first moment of their arrival at our Department. Surgical and Anatomical procedures are done with the proper respect to the body and after the procedures the cadavers will be buried as stated by the law.
